Notify me of your next MA OSHA Class!
OSHA Training APS Safety Holds
OSHA 10 Classes nearly every Month in Massachusetts!! Send us your name and contact information and we will notify you of the next
class in your area!! OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training is required
in MA, CT and RI! The specific requirements of the laws
in each state are slightly different. There are links here so that you can read the law in the states you do work.(See
Below)
Massachusetts
seems to have the most stringent requirements. This law pertains to public (not private)
bidding contracts with state or local monies in excess of $10,000. This Mass public works law is tied to Commonwealth of
Mass bidding laws (The sister RI law, passed 3 years ago, has a threshold level of $100,000 and is a S&H law)
The law basically states that after July 30, 2006 all contractors (CM, GC, Prime,
Sub, etc ) considered to be the lowest, responsible and eligible bidder on public work ( building or highway ) shall certify
that all employee's (not just craft labor but to include site management, supervision, foremen, engineers, etc.) to be
employed ( to include those under the Davis Bacon Act/Prevailing Wage Statute) at the worksite will have successfully completed
a OSHA 10 hour course at the time the employee begins work and who shall furnish documentation of successful completion of
said course with the first certified payroll for each employee.
The law
further states that the bidder must sign and certify under the pains and penalties of perjury that all employees to be employed
at the worksite have completed the OSHA 10 hour course.
The bill further
contemplates that employee's carry safety documentation at all times and if not the employee is subject to be immediately
removed from the jobsite.
